  The best - The best food, the best service. We have returned year after year and have experienced nothing but exceptional. Absolutely a gem.

  Awesome restaurant! - Excellent German food served piping hot. Especially love the 2 for 1 Schnitzel night on Sundays. Washing it down with a Margarita is the best. Also the service is top notch.

The place is extremely busy on a Sunday so you must make... read more a reservation. They have quite a few tables inside and about 6-8 on the street in front of the restaurant. Although the indoor area is “inside,” it’s quite open with windows open to the street and part of the roof open. Service is very good despite how busy it was. The food was excellent. We all had the schnitzel and a friend had the Thai shrimp with pasta. She thoroughly enjoyed it and it smelled fabulous! The schnitzel was cooked perfectly! Not greasy at all and crispy on the outside. The purple cabbage and spetzel were both great accompaniments. They have a few great German beers available. Oh, the apple strudel was wonderful! We will be back next year!

  German dinner - Great family dinner. Scargot and Thai shrimp were my favorites.
Everybody were so kind during the whole meal. Perfect place to have a nice dinner.

But hears the catch. This visit there were four couples and advised there would only be a single bill and we could work it out ourselves. This is wrong on so many levels. Trying to figure out a couples share was a night mare. Some couples ordered more or more expensive items. Calculating tips was a pain because of different personal practices. In all it ruined a perfectly pleasant experience. And unnecessary.

If separate bills can be done for two or three couples then it should not be more of a problem for four or five. I’m not sure if we’ll return but certainly not with a group and I cannot in good faith recommend for large groups. But maybe that’s the point of this policy.

The red wine gravy is wonderful. The service is 5 star all the way. A very attentive and caring staff. We topped our night off with the apple strudel which was a first for us. We both felt it was the best apple strudel we have ever had. Very light and warm pastry with delicious apples nuts and raisins inside with a scoop of ice cream drizzled in chocolate. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant in La Cruz. You won't be disappointed!
